Abstract
•A mathematical framework is constructed by coupling the hydrodynamics and bubble breakup and coalescence using the complete energy spectrum.•Model results and laboratory data are consistent.•Viscous effects were captured numerically by the entire energy spectrum and improved the kLa and bubble sizes predictions.•For Non Newtonian Fluids The SST turbulence model resulted in a better precision than the κ-ε model.
