Enriching teachers’ assessments of rhythmic Forró dance skills by modelling motion sensor data

摘要
•Dance teachers face challenges to provide learners with feedback on rhythmic skills.•Current rhythm modelling solutions are too complex to support dance teachers ‘in-thewild’.•We present an approach to model learners’ rhythm, using a single smartphone, to enrich teachers’ assessments.•Resulting models were validated by comparing the artificial intelligence (AI) outputs with dance teachers’ assessments.•We investigated teachers’ envisaged pedagogical uses of the AI to support rhythm learning.
