Analysis on the Anti-vibration Performance of Domestic-made 35 kV High-temperature Superconducting Cable

In the designed project of the 35-kV km-Level domestic High-temperature Superconducting (HTS) cable in Shanghai, China, the HTS cable confront challenges of various vibration excitation from operating environment in metropolitan area, which threatens its sealing and structural stability. This work investigates the anti-vibration performance of the HTS cable by experiment and modeling. Four kinds of typical vibration conditions, namely the subway vibration, pile-driving vibration, earthquake, and Shanghai artificial wave vibration, are represented. The displacement, acceleration and stress distribution of the HTS cable under vibration conditions are measured in the experiment. Meanwhile, a vibration response model based on the finite element method is built to analyze the dynamic characteristics of the cable in vibration. Results show that, the maximum displacement and acceleration are 16.44 mm and 1.05 g respectively for the HTS cable. The maximum stress at the vacuum plug weld of the HTS cable is 0.62 MPa, which is still lower than its yield stress.
