Abstract
Rhizobacteria are highly significant in soil micro-flora because of their effluence, species diversity and the profusions of their metabolic activities. This research was conducted with an intension to find the antagonistic activity of Culturable bacteria isolated from the rhizosphere of Calotropis gigantea from different areas of Multan, Pakistan. Bacteria were isolated and identified by morphological, biochemical, molecular techniques and then tested for determining the antibacterial susceptibility and antagonistic activity. From total 46 bacterial isolates, 20 representatives were subjected for DNA sequencing and phylogenatic tree was generated. The results revealed that our identified bacterial isolates showed superb antibacterial activity against chemotherapeutic agents and have the strong antagonistic properties against all the selected pathogenic bacterial strains used in this study.
