摘要
The treatment of trauma-induced skull defect is still a challenge, which includes the skull repair while protecting brain tissues. Most of conventional biomaterials for skull repair show the poor elasticity and low osteogenic activity while lacking the antibacterial activity, which are not satisfied for treating trauma-induced skull defect. Herein, we report a bioactive elastomeric self-healing antibacterial nanocomposite hydrogel scaffold (PAPB) with good biomineralization activity for enhancing the skull defect reconstruction. The PAPB scaffolds could efficiently match the skull defect morphology, enhance osteogenic differentiation, regenerate the bone tissues. This work suggests the important potential of bioactive elastomeric self-healing scaffolds with antibacterial activity in treating trauma-induced skull defect.
