A novel 4f-4d complex resulted from heptacyanomolybdate(III)

Abstract
A novel complex {[Gd(H2O)3(DMSO)(μ-CN)4]2[Gd(H2O)4(DMSO)3(μ-CN)][Mo3(CN)21]·3.5H2O]n 1 was synthesized by a diffusion method. Complex 1 consists of straight line structure formed by [Gd2Mo3] trigonal bipyramidal units connecting each other through cyanide bridges. Magnetic measurements indicates that weak antiferromagnetic interaction is operating between Gd(III) ions.
