Abstract
•Large TRDs and poor RHAGB connectivity were induced by hot rolling and annealing.•Operation of GB migration, recrystallization, grain growth contribute to large TRDs.•Slight DSE can promote the local GBs migration and recrystallization initiation.•Optimized GBCDs by new TMPs presented favourable resistance to IGC.
