摘要
The Yaqui indigenous community is located in the state of Sonora, Mexico. One of its main sources of economic and food income is the production of goats thanks to its productive benefits. Due to the lack of study and professional support, it is common to show deficiencies in the animal health management of goats, which impedes local development. The objective is to analyze and improve the animal health management of goat production carried out on a farm in the Yaqui indigenous community in Vicam, Sonora, Mexico. This farm is used as a pilot and its model will be replicated in the other production units of the ethnic group. The property has 117 animals and an extensive production system. Animal health management was evaluated using a data collection instrument developed based on the researcher's criteria and the health model developed for the community. A microbiological analysis of the milk was performed to evaluate the quality of the product and the milking process. The variables analyzed were synthesized and analyzed using a SWOT matrix. An improvement plan was drawn up, the activities were divided into objectives according to the difficulty of the other weaknesses, resulting in: registration systems, activity plans, theoretical-practical health talks and the preparation of a disease prevention and recognition manual common in the area.
