Using neurotypical siblings as intervention agents to guide individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders: A systematic review

•Neurotypical (NT) children can serve as intervention agents to support their siblings with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).•NT siblings were trained to use behavioral strategies to enhance desired behaviors and/or skills in children with ASD.•NT siblings implemented learned strategies to guide their siblings with ASD via playing games, teaching, and interactions.•Positive social validity outcomes of the existing sibling interventions were found.
