In this work, a modified approach is established to investigate the spectrum of galactic cosmic rays (GCRs) and the corresponding atmospheric ionization. In this approach, the solar modulation potential is neglected in first approximation. A proton Local Interstellar Spectrum (LIS) is investigated and analysed. Then, a generalized power-law expression is used to model a function of Cosmic Ray Induced Ionization (CRII) in the ionospheres and atmospheres of the Earth and planets. The computed proton intensities are in good agreement with GCR measurements at various energies.
