摘要
Chile is currently living a process of political and social crisis, within a global health and climate emergency and on the brink of an economic crisis. The agri-food landscape is shaped by the dominant development policy macro trends. They are mainly based on economic growth with a disregard of the ecological capacity of the land and the environmental and social impacts. In that sense, capitalism has become a meta-narrative of global scope, transcending all the different spheres and dimensions of life, including the agri-food system. Transformation of regimes are the key process for sustainability transitions. The current agro-food regime is characterized by an agro-industry and agrobusiness model where food becomes a commodity and the priority is to buy and sell it. Since the process of European colonization and settlement in Latin America, land ownership was associated with wealth and power. In 1962, Chile joined the agrarian reforms that had previously been initiated in Mexico, Bolivia and Cuba.
