FACTORS IN WASTE MANAGEMENT OF ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY HOSPITALS

Along with accelerating climate crises internationally, global green and health hospitals are promoting health care systems in various regions and nations in the world to protect health from the effect of climate change. Furthermore, zero waste policy is set and environmental waste management and treatment is adopted to achieve the sustainable development of society. Selecting supervisors and employees of hospitals in Shanghai for the questionnaire objects, this study aims to understand the effects of factor weights on the waste management of environmentally friendly hospitals. With random sampling, 500 copies of questionnaire are distributed for this study, and 416 valid copies are retrieved, with a retrieval rate of 83%. The research results conclude that: (1) environmental education, among evaluation dimensions in Hierarchy 2, is the most emphasised dimension in the waste management of environmentally friendly hospitals, and (2) top five indicators, among 15, are ordered 5S environmental inventory, reuse, item positioning planning and execution, source reduction, and power system. According the results to propose discussions, it is expected to help domestic health care not result in major injuries and effects on patients, health care workers, and health care institutions as well as reduce the maximal waste of health care resources.
