Abstract
•Morphology of modified MoS2 nanosheets adsorbed at W/O interface is obtained by MD.•The stress exerted on a nanosheet is analyzed.•The non-uniform forces acting on a nanosheet result in an intersection angle.•Notable  IFT decline is followed by fluctuation with increased nanosheet concentration.•Competition between interface coverage and intersection angle causes IFT fluctuation.
