Identification of radiation degradation products of soluble fraction of silicone foams

•Toluene immersion is the key to remove the incompletely cross-linked polysiloxane oligomer of silicon foam.•The main degradation product of two kinds of silicone foams under irradiation was identified as polysiloxane structures.•Theoretical calculations suggest the gradually degradation mechanism of silicon foam under irradiation.
