摘要
•Typical temperature-dependent internal friction (IF) curves of Fe-7Mn-0.1C steel were investigated.•The difference in peak intensity between RAT peak and MT peak resulted from the change in driving free energy.•The obvious asymmetry of the RAT peak was mainly originated from the inhomogeneous distribution of Mn element.•Measurement of the MT peak is helpful for material design.
