A facile one-pot synthesis of a new 3,7-diethyl-1H- [1,2,4]triazino [4,3-b] [1,2,4]triazine-4,8-dione: Structural, thermal, and photoluminescent properties

•A new schiff base compound has been prepared via a condensation reaction.•A facile, one-pot method has been introduced to prepare the triazine compound.•The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system of the space group C2/c.•The thermal reactivity and stability were analyzed by a TG-DTA technique.•This compound exhibited photoluminescent emission at λex = 380 nm.
