Abstract
•A CMS adsorbent with a CO2/CH4 kinetic selectivity of 163 was used in biogas upgrading.•A 98 % purity biomethane with 83 % recovery was obtained by a VPSA process with CMS adsorbent.•A lower feed velocity with a longer cycle time achieves superior VPSA process performance.•Good agreement between experimental and numerical results validated the process model.
