摘要
The Aedes aegypti is responsible for the spread of various diseases (Chikungunya, Dengue and Zika). Its dissemination has a close relationship with social-environmental factors such as high population density, the disorderly occupation of soil, climatic conditions and poor infrastructure of cities (disabled of water supply systems, disposal of solid waste and treatment of household waste). Thus, this paper analyzes the correlation between social-environmental factors and the building infestation rate (BIR) by A. aegypti in the Cidade Nova neighborhood, Aracaju. The research was conducted through literature and field research (interviews and workshops) aimed to Combat Endemic Diseases agents and residents. It was found that the deficiencies in sanitation and improper disposal of waste in vacant lots contribute to the existence of potential breeding sites. In addition, climate change is crucial to vector proliferation, since in 2014 (intensification of rainy season) was the highest BIR. Thus, public policies need to include actions of participatory environmental education and effective for awareness and community mobilization in the control of A. aegypti.
