Nanoarchitectonics of heterometallic compound Al4Bi4 for optical limiting

The highest nuclearity of AlBi-based cluster compound currently was prepared by a facile synthetic approached. The presence of abundant π-conjugated ligand, intra-molecular and inter-molecular π···π interactions encouraged us to investigate its third-order nonlinear optical (NLO) property. The Z-scan result shows typical reverse saturation absorption (RSA) response, which indicates its potential application in optical-limiting devices.
