Buoy structural high-sensitive magnetoelectric sensors for soft robots’ tactile sensing and avoiding obstacles

•The driven high-sensitive sensors for soft robots’ tactile sensing were fabricated.•Buoy structural magnetoelectric sensor had a high sensitivity compared with other sensors.•Maxwell numerical simulation explained the corresponding perception mechanism.•The soft robot could sense the obstacles and took the avoidance measures driven by a magnetic field.
