Abstract
•Fe-Co nanoparticles of 5–14 nm supported on chitosan-derived carbon were prepared.•FTS was conducted without pre-reduction of the catalysts.•10 nm Fe-Co nanoalloys showed a high specific activity (126 μmolCO/(gFe-Co·s)).•FTS activity and selectivity strongly depend on the Fe-Co nanoparticle size.
