A note on the parity of I-pi=5(-) state in Xe-126,Xe-128

Excited states in Xe-126,Xe-128 were populated via Sn-122(Be-9, 5n gamma) and Sn-122(Be-9, 3n gamma) fusion-evaporation reactions, respectively, at a beam energy of 48MeV. The electromagnetic (electric or magnetic) nature and multipolarity of some inter-band gamma rays are determined from linear polarization and angular correlation measurements. Remeasured/newly measured linear polarization asymmetry helps to assign the parity of 2302-keV (Xe-126)/2228-keV (Xe-128) I-pi = 5(-) state unequivocally.
