Safety and effectiveness of overlap esophagojejunostomy in totally laparoscopic total gastrectomy for gastric cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis

•Overlap method reduces rate of anastomotic stenosis in totally laparoscopic total gastrectomy.•Compared to other anastomoses, overlap method did not increase the risk of postoperative complications.•Overlap method is a recommendable procedure during totally laparoscopic total gastrectomy.
