摘要

•Magnetically recoverable Au/MCeOx (M = Fe, Co, Ni) catalysts were applied inoxidative esterification reaction of MAL to MMA.•Au/FeCeOx catalyst not only had better catalytic performance but also achieved magnetic recovery and recycling performance.•DFT theory was used innovatively to explain the mechanism of reaction between Auσ+/Auσ− and different reactants on the micro-surface.
