Abstract
•Research on physical activity in patients with kidney cancer is very limited with only 17 published articles from nine independent studies.•The 9 independent studies consisted of 7 cohort studies focused mainly on physical activity in the general population and risk of kidney cancer mortality; and 1 cross-sectional study and 1 randomized controlled trial focused mainly on exercise behavior change in patients with kidney cancer.•Evidence on the safety, feasibility, and efficacy (benefits and harms) of physical activity in patients with kidney cancer is lacking. Systematic research is needed on physical activity in patients with kidney cancer, taking into account their unique disease- and treatment-related factors.
