Extension Psychology & Counseling Based on Extenics

Starts from summarizing the important psychological schools and therapies, this paper present a new school of psychological counseling and therapy called Extension Psychology (EP), which generates systematic innovative ideas to solve mental problems by three core steps including modeling, expansion, and transformation based on Extenics. EP believes that more than 80% of psychological problems are due to mental conflicts. By analysis on multi-dimensions of Extenics, most psychological disorder among them could be systematically dispersed and expanded by enlarging individual’s thinking dimensions such as from the existing conditions, the goals in terms of elements, principle and discourse domain with the support of information technology. Finally, our case study shows that the systematic innovation solutions will be generated to solve the problems followed by discussion with individuals and their relatives or related people through three core steps in extension psychological counseling. Our research may inspire the development of psychology in the era of big data.
