A Method of Identifying Water Level Information through WiFi Signal

CSI (channel state information) can estimate the channel characteristics between Wi-Fi transceiver devices at the physical layer, which can used to sense the environment. This paper proposes a method to acquire CSI data and sense water level height in water tank with portable microcontrollers. It uses ESP32 wi-fi modules to obtain the change of CSI data caused by the change of water in the tank, and processing data using neural network, and then perceiving the water level. This system has the advantages of great flexibility and low cost, which has good application potential in health care and smart home field.
