Autoregulatory control of the stability and plasticity of cytoskeletal networks

Cytoskeleton assumes diverse architectures to play its various roles in cell motility, cell shape stability and change, and cell division. How the cooperation between microtubules and actin filaments enables stability and plasticity of the cytoskeletal architecture remains elusive. Here, we analyse the role of cytoskeletal cross-talk in the emergence of adaptive network organisation. We developed a minimal experimental system that combines the dissipative self-assembly of cytoskeletal polymers and their collective self-organisation.
