Crohn’s Disease is associated with a greater risk of adverse obstetric outcome than Ulcerative Colitis

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) comprising Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) affects 3 million people in the US. While it is known that people with IBD have an increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes, it is poorly understood what factors predispose patients to this increased risk. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether clinical data could predict the probability of adverse pregnancy outcomes.
