Influence of Fault Ride-Through Characteristics of Wind Turbines on Transmission Power of Ultra-High Voltage AC/DC Hybrid System

With the continuous construction of large-scale wind and thermal power bundling ultra-high voltage (UHV) AC/DC transmission projects, the dynamic characteristics of wind turbines have an increasing impact on the transmission power of the system. The transmission power is constrained by various constraints such as transient overvoltage, power angle stability, and dynamic stability, making it difficult to analyze. This paper takes a typical UHV AC/DC hybrid transmission system as an example, first, the system transmission power constraints are sorted out. Then, the fault ride-through dynamic characteristics of wind turbines are analyzed. Further, the influence of fault ride-through characteristics on different types of constraints is studied, and the evaluation method of the system transmission power range is proposed. Finally, the influence of fault ride-through characteristics on system transmission power is explained and relevant suggestions are given, in order to provide a reference for the design and safe operation of actual projects.
