Study on Evaluation of Renewable Energy Accommodation for Receiving Power System and Influencing Factors

Trans-regional renewable energy accommodatio n through high-capacity ultra-high voltage direct current (UH VDC) projects has become an important means to improve the utilization rate of renewable energy power generation and promote the low carbon energy transition. While meeting the demands of power transmission at the sending-end and the load growth at receiving-end, the feed-in of high-capacity UHVDC also has a significant impact on renewable energy accommodation of the receiving power system. In this paper, three indexes are selected to evaluate the renewable energy accommodation capaci ty of the receiving power system, including the proportion of power generation, the proportion of installed capacity and the utilization rate. The impact of DC power transmission curves, transmission capacity of AC power grid and renewable energy installed capacity on renewable energy accommodation is quantitatively analyzed based on an actual provincial receiving power system. The results show that optimization of trans-regional U HVDC transmission power curve, construction of strong AC power system structure and reasonable renewable energy installation capacity can improve the renewable energy accommodation of a receiving power system.
