Chrysomya pinguis (Walker) (Diptera: Calliphoridae), blow fly of forensic importance: A review of bionomics and forensic entomology appraisal

•Chrysomya pinguis is the blow fly of forensic importance in many countries of the Asia continent.•Collections of C. pinguis specimens from the death scenes has arisen markedly and can be used in forensic investigations.•The morphological characteristics used for species identification were provided from our original figures.•Such information will be certainly useful for medical practitioners and/or forensic entomologists broadly.
