Small extracellular vesicles induced gene expression changes in microglia.

Our data demonstrate alterations in sEV composition from both SNI and sham surgeries, and the molecular changes captured in donor sEVs could impact gene expression in the recipient cells. The differences observed in microglial phenotypes and gene expression suggest sEVs from sham surgery are directed at wound healing and thus differ from nerve injury-induced sEVs.
