Berberine alleviates NLRP3 inflammasome induced endothelial junction dysfunction through Ca2+ signalling in inflammatory vascular injury

•Berberine could restrain the endothelial hyper-permeability in inflammatory vascular injury.•Berberine could protect endothelial function through inhibiting the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome.•Ca2+ influx induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation could be blocked by berberine.•P2 × 7R could be a potential target of BBR in regulation of endothelial NLRP3 inflammasome in inflammatory vascular injury.
