Abstract
BMS 30th Annual Scientific Conference 2021 Winner, Best Poster Congratulations to Dr Leila Frodsham Doctor’s Menopause Caf e (with PMGUK) – A fresh approach to menopause education The judges were impressed with this original mixed methods study which highlights deficiencies in general practitioner (GP) training in menopause care as well as the difficulties that GPs experience in obtaining good menopause care for their own symptoms. Clearly, if a doctor lacks information about how to manage her own menopause, it will be hard for her to provide optimum menopause care to her patients. While studies often identify where knowledge is lacking, they rarely proffer a practical solution. In this case, the authors present evidence from their research for how the creation of the Menopause Caf e has provided female GPs with a supportive and informative environment which has not only benefited participants but will also benefit their patients.
