Empennage sizing using tail volume

The paper explains the preliminary sizing of the empennage using the Aircraft Preliminary Sizing Tool (PreSTo). From the different modules of the PreSTo, empennage sizing has been taken as the key feature to explain further. The empennage sizing using Tail volume provides the geometry (Span and Chord) of the horizontal and vertical tail which will support to proceed with the aircraft mass and center of gravity estimation. The preliminary sizing involves with selection of suitable parameters. PreSTo plays the important role by suggesting the right parameters based on the empennage configuration and design goal.
