摘要
This paper investigates the transfer delays of a water distribution system (WDS). The delay implies that water balance between the supply and demand does not meet instantly, which may affect the regulation capability of WDS on the electricity consumption profile. Current research did not consider the role the transfer delay plays in the cooperative operation of power system and WDS. Not considering the delay hinders the water flow dynamics from being used to provide energy flexibility for the power system operation. An electrical-water analogy method is proposed to model the water transfer delay of WDS. The cooperative operation model of the WDS and power system is created to facilitate the incorporation of wind power to the power system and lower the operation cost. Moreover, a graph-based searching scheme is developed to enable efficient and accurate calculation of the pressures and water flows in the WDS network. Case studies are presented to demonstrate the merits of the proposed electrical-water analogy method in power system operation.
