Predictors of self-reported resilience in parents of autistic children

•Certain classes of variables were associated with self-reported resilience in some parents of autistic children.•Anxiety, stress, optimism, and self-compassion were robust predictors of parental self-reported resilience.•Child problem behaviors and parent mindfulness were not correlated with parental resilience in this sample.•Findings reveal important treatment targets for parents of autistic children.
