Preliminary Results on the Importance of Vagus Nerve Stimulation Parameters for Its Chronotropic Effects in Vagotomized Rabbits

A sensitivity analysis of the main parameters of cardiac-synchronized vagus nerve stimulation was performed to determine their importance on the acute provoked chronotropic effects in bilaterally vagotomized rabbits. The preliminary results suggest a preeminent importance of current amplitude and pulse width, while other parameters may play a minor role. Clinical Relevance— Our work aims to better understand the influence of vagus nerve stimulation on the provoked acute chronotropic effects.
