Abstract
Seismic node is an important geological exploration equipment. The seismic node has a complex near-ground application environment. The near-ground seriously interferes with the wireless signal of the seismic node and affects its data transmission capability. This article proposes a link and energy-aware gradient routing (LEGR) method, which can effectively reduce the interference of the near-ground on the seismic node. LEGR introduces the concept of link potential energy (LPE) to represent the gradient and establishes the LPE loss model using the link quality and the remaining power. The LPE is generated by the data acquisition center (DAC) and spreads to each node with some loss which is depending on the LPE loss model during the propagation process, and finally, a gradient field about the LPE is formed. Data are transmitted along the steepest direction of the gradient to the DAC. The simulation results show that LEGR significantly reduces the impact of wireless signal strength fluctuations on the seismic node compared with other traditional routing methods. The experimental results show that LEGR is superior to the commonly used routing method for seismic nodes network in term of packets latency and packet delivery rate, improves the anti-interference ability, and enhances the wireless communication reliability for the seismic node networks.
