Holographic encryption algorithm based on bit-plane decomposition and hyperchaotic Lorenz system

•The algorithm combines the improved GS algorithm and the hyperchaotic Lorentz system.•The principle of bit-plane decomposition is used to encrypt different bit-planes of the image.•Scrambling and diffusion based on the kinoform.•Not simple confusion-diffusion structures, scrambling and diffusion is not in the same bit-plane.
