However, little is yet known about the desired equivalence of academic effectiveness between the online and classroom options. Face-to-face and online teaching methods are compared in this work through the results obtained when applied to an entrance preparatory course given to applicants to the program of Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas. The courses were designed in such a way that the differences between them were minimized, being online / classroom learning the key variable. The statistical analysis does not show significant differences. It is concluded that both methods are equivalent for this study case.
