Abstract
Harmonic voltage distortion in residential distribution network become quite serious since more and more nonlinear home appliances have been used. However, it is challenge for the utility to fully figure out the severity of the distortion due to the shortage of power quality monitor in distribution network. In response to this problem, this paper establishes a probabilistic harmonic model of secondary residential system(SRS) which represents the low voltage side of the service transformer, and it can be applied to probabilistic harmonic load flow calculation. A large amount of field waveform data is recorded at several service transformers to develop a power-based piecewise harmonic model of the secondary residential system. The use of the piecewise harmonic model is verified by carrying out the probabilistic harmonic load flow in a three-phase four-wire residential distribution network.
