Bajakah tampala stems (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk) contain secondary metabolites in the form of flavonoids, saponins, and tannins that have the potential to increase immunity (immunostimulators) so that they can ward off free radicals. One source of exogenous free radicals is infection from the Salmonella typhimurium bacteria which can cause typhoid fever. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of supplementation of Bajakah tampala stems extract (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk) on behavioral (hair texture and feed consumption) and mobility (activity and shivering state) changes of male mice (Mus musculus L.) infected with Salmonella typhimurium bacteria. The study used a total experimental design with a completely randomized design (CRD), which consisted of 5 treatments (multilevel doses) and 6 replications (male mice). The dosages were extract of bajakah stems 0 mg/kg (aquadest only or K1/control); 25 mg/kg (K2); 50 mg/kg (K3); 100 mg/kg (K4), and 30 mg/kg of immunostimulator brand X (K2). The mice were injected orally with the extract of the bajakah stem according to the predetermined dose for 30 days. On the 31st days, the mice were infected with Salmonella typhimurium bacteria intraperitoneally. On days 32-34, observations were made on rectal temperature, behavior (hair texture and feed consumption), and mobility (activity and shivering state) changes. Rectal temperature data were analyzed statistically ANOVA and DMRT, data on behavior and mobility changes were scored and analyzed descriptively. The conclusion of the study is that the treatment of tampala bajakah stems extract (Spatholobus littoralis Hask) in mice induced by fever with Salmonella typhimurium bacteria can increase the immune system (immunostimulator) thereby reducing fever and behavioral changes as well as the mobility of mice. The effective dose of Bajakah stems extract in reducing fever was 25 mg/kg (36.39 C). The dose of Bajakah stems extract which was effective in maintaining normal behavior and mobility of mice (neat hair condition, good feed consumption, active activity, and not shivering) was 100 mg/kg BW.
