摘要
Purpose: Clinical studies assessing relationships between biomarkers and pain in osteoarthritis seldom consider that these relationships may differ for males and females. In prior work in a knee osteoarthritis sample we reported sex-specific associations between knee pain and systemic inflammatory biomarkers. The focus of the current study was to determine whether associations between local knee synovial fluid biomarkers and knee osteoarthritis pain differed by sex.
