Beta-Thalassemia major with Gaucher disease

•β-Thalassemia is a genetic disorder that is prevalent in some parts of the world, mostly in South Asia.•Gaucher's disease is a lysosomal storage disorder with a variety of blood and bone involvement.•Coexistence of β-thalassemia and gaucher disease is very rare.•Both entities have overlapping clinical manifestations requiring an equipped medical facility for definite diagnosis.•Enzyme replacement therapy is not available in most parts of the South Asian endemic areas for the treatment of Gaucher's disease.
