摘要

•Although useful, vacuum bell treatment of pectus excavatum is not effective in all cases.•An initial pectus depth of 1.8 cm and a 12-month duration of treatment were the best thresholds for prediction of success. Patients with satisfactory outcomes had a significantly lower pectus depth by 9 months of treatment.
