摘要
•UH-LHTES could overcome overall conversion efficiency and energy density of TES.•A CFD model reproducing UH-LHTES systems performance is developed and validated.•Low (high) energy-power ratio systems are more (less) sensitive to heat loss.•Low CPE (< 10 €/kWh) are obtained for UH-LHTES capacities above 1 MWh.
