Evaluation of Subseasonal-to-Seasonal (S2S) precipitation forecast from the North American Multi-Model ensemble phase II (NMME-2) over the contiguous U.S.

•The S2S precipitation forecast from the NMME-2 dataset is evaluated over the CONUS.•Model performance is analyzed with lead times, climate regions, and seasonality.•The forecast accuracy is sensitive to lead time and seasonalities over CONUS.•NMME-2 show superior performances in predicting extreme precipitation events above 99% and below 1% percentiles over CONUS.
