The probability distribution of daily streamflow in perennial rivers of Angola

•The frequency distribution of daily streamflow in the continuous Angola was explored.•The most suitable PDFs for approximating daily streamflow are identified.•FDCs shape can be related with the prediction of negative flows.•The estimated runoff coefficients are small and similar.•RFA based on L-moments can be a sound alternative for the regionalization of FDCs.
